Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect your name, organisation, job title, email address, telephone number, billing details, project communications, support requests, contracts, transaction references and information you choose to provide.
Our website or service providers may also collect device and usage information such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referral source and approximate location through server logs, cookies or similar technologies.
How we obtain information
We collect information directly from you when you email us, request a quotation, enter into a Project Agreement, make a payment or ask for support. We may also receive information from your organisation, an authorised representative, public business sources or service providers used to operate our website and projects.
Why we use it
We process personal information to respond to enquiries; prepare proposals; enter into and perform contracts; design, deliver and support projects; process and reconcile payments; maintain security and records; comply with legal obligations; establish or defend legal claims; improve our website and services; and, where permitted, communicate relevant business updates.
We rely on consent where required, performance of a contract, compliance with law and our legitimate business interests, as applicable. You may withhold optional information, but we may be unable to provide a requested service where information is necessary for it.
Payments
Online payments may be processed by PayFast or another payment provider. Payment-card details are entered into the provider’s secure environment and are not intended to be stored by DT Digital. We may receive limited payment information such as payer details, amount, status and transaction reference for reconciliation and support.
Sharing information
We may share information only as reasonably necessary with staff and contractors working under confidentiality obligations; hosting, email, analytics, security, accounting and payment providers; professional advisers; project partners authorised by the client; regulators, courts or public authorities where required by law; and a successor in a legitimate business transfer.
We do not sell personal information.
International transfers
Some service providers or project participants may process information outside South Africa. Where personal information is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to use recipients subject to an adequate law, binding agreement, corporate rules, consent or another safeguard permitted by the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (“POPIA”).
Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as needed for the purpose collected, our contractual relationship, security, dispute resolution and applicable legal, tax or accounting requirements. We then delete, de-identify or securely archive it as appropriate.
Security and incidents
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical measures designed to protect information against loss, unauthorised access, interference, alteration or disclosure. If a security compromise affecting personal information requires notification, we will notify the Information Regulator and affected data subjects as required by law.
Cookies and external links
We may use essential cookies and limited measurement technologies to keep the website working and understand its use. You can control non-essential cookies through available consent controls or your browser settings. Our website may link to third-party sites; their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
Your rights
Subject to POPIA and other applicable law, you may ask whether we hold your personal information; request access to it; ask us to correct, update or delete inaccurate or unlawfully held information; object to certain processing; withdraw consent where processing relies on consent; or complain about our handling of your information.

Information processed for clients
When DT Digital hosts or supports a system on behalf of a client, that client may be the responsible party and DT Digital may act as its operator. In that situation, the client’s privacy notice governs the data and requests should normally be directed to the client. Our contract with the client governs our processing and security duties.
Children
Our website and business services are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect a child’s personal information without the consent or other authorisation required by law.
